Addictio Choir (EN)

Addictio is a chamber choir, founded in the autumn of 2005 by its singers. All 28 members of the choir are experienced choral singers.

Addictio is conducted by Anna Toivakka, a young professional choral conductor, who inspires the choir to its best performance. In 2009, she finished her Master of Music degree in Sibelius Academy, in the degree programme of choral conducting. She has also studied piano and singing and still continues her vocal studies with great interest. In addition to Addictio, she conducts childrens´ and youth choirs at Helsinki Conservatory of Music and teaches choral conducting.

In Addictio, a rare combination of high artistic standards and a fresh, joyful performance is met. Despite being relatively new, the choir has given several concerts with a versatile repertoire, ranging from Latin American music a cappella to masterpieces of renaissance and music theatre for children. Addictio´s purpose is to offer music addicts an opportunity to indulge in their passion, to perform high quality music and to learn new things – and to have fun too. Because music and art are created to convey emotion and to give meaningful experiences for performers and audiences alike, Addictio seeks to touch the heart of the listener.
